
Totally Local Company – Fleet Services Successful Process Improvements
Totally Local Company is pleased to share great news regarding the successful improvements to upgrade the environment and processes in our Fleet Services division.
The improvements include the installation of a new Customer Waiting Area in our Fleet Workshop to provide a more comfortable and safe waiting area for Taxi drivers to wait while their vehicles are serviced or MOT tested.

Image: MOT Manager – Our New End to End System for Booking and Paying for Compliance Tests and MOT’s
We have introduced a new end-to-end system, built in partnership with MOT Manager, which takes our taxi driver clients through a seamless booking and payment process. The new system has transformed our processes enabling our technicians to undertake the work and update the test criteria with the use of mobile devices.

This is very beneficial to the drivers as they receive full updates during the process, and an email following their MOT test to provide either a certificate for a successful test, or a list detailing what items have failed the test.
Our Fleet Administration, and Finance teams also have full access to all the reports and reconciliation data they need to process, change, cancel, or refund any bookings.
Taxi Vehicle Licensing
We work in close collaboration with the Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) Licensing Office where a review of the compliance criteria required to be met by the vehicles has been reviewed and is now out for consultation. Vehicle MOT results are automatically copied to the Licensing Office so that they can update their records.
This is a fantastic transformation from a paper based, mostly manual process with scanning, emailing, and reporting undertaken by admin. The data results are presented professionally, and we are proud to be the first to provide a system to SMBC to support the process.
This is a major improvement both in terms of how we work and the service we provide.
