Posted On: 06 Sep 2024

On Friday, 30 August 2024, our Schools Education Catering team gathered for their highly anticipated annual Cluster Day, held at the Guildhall in Stockport. The event was a resounding success, bringing together colleagues from across our catering team in a lively and engaging atmosphere.

We provided breakfast rolls, followed by insightful presentations and workshops led by guest speakers from Chefs in Schools, a renowned charity dedicated to transforming school food services. The charity’s team of chef trainers and food education experts facilitated sessions aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of our Cooks and General Assistants.

Workshops covered a variety of essential topics, including the importance of teamwork and effective communication, overcoming kitchen challenges, and promoting the wellbeing of both the children we serve and our team members. These interactive sessions provided invaluable insights and best practices to further elevate the quality of our services.

Key members of the TLC leadership team, including Director of HR and Communications, Susan McKee, and Operations Director, Simon Daly, were actively involved throughout the day, participating in the workshops and engaging with team members.

The Cluster Day serves as a vital platform for our Catering team to exchange industry news, training, and best practices. It also offers a chance to reflect on the team’s accomplishments and future goals. The day concluded with an awards ceremony, recognising the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our outstanding team members.

We are incredibly proud of our Catering team’s unwavering commitment to delivering nutritious, delicious meals to the children in our local schools. Their dedication is the cornerstone of our success, and this event highlighted the exceptional contributions they make each and every day.

Overall, the Cluster Day was a well-organised and thoroughly enjoyable event, leaving participants feeling inspired and empowered to continue their excellent work.
