Solutions SK Glow for Macmillan in Stockport
On Friday 28 October, local facility management business, Solutions SK ‘glowed’ in aid of Macmillan Stockport.
Nominating Macmillan in Stockport as their employee charity of the year, the business has already held several charity fundraising days through 2016.
As the end of the year draws nearer, Managing Director, Stephen Morris, wanted to do something which would raise money one last time, and help their teams come together in a fun way.
He said:
We had previously taken part in the 5K Glow in the Park, but this year was an opportunity to do something more. Inspired by the Glow theme, we organised a Glow Friday which encouraged all of our 836 employees to wear something fluorescent and help raise money for families in Stockport who are supported by Macmillan.
By the end of the year, Jacqueline Cohen, Customer Engagement Manager for Solutions SK, confirms they hope to have raised close to £1,000. She comments:
Fundraising here is so special because it’s solely driven by employee donations instead of corporate cheques – which makes the choice to donate, an emotive one. Glow Friday was such a success and enabled everyone to get involved. We finished off the day with a team of 31 who entered the 5K run at Glow in the Park and I have to admit, we were all very proud of the achievement, truly hoping what we’re doing will help make a difference.
Solutions SK is a Facility Management company which provides services to businesses and local authorities across the North West.
