Eat Them To Defeat Them – Broccoli Week

Thanks to all our TLC teams who have taken part in broccoli week this week as part of Eat Them To Defeat Them.

At Bolshaw Primary our Cook in Charge Charlene went above and beyond for the children. She made broccoli salad, a creamy broccoli dip, delicious broccoli and potato croquettes & broccoli and cauliflower cheese. We’re told it looked and tasted beautiful; the children loved them!

Our TLC broccoli has been at St Mary’s Moston where she used breaktime in the playground to show nursery and reception classes everything they need to know about broccoli. They had great fun – and the children enjoyed trying the raw broccoli.

She also travelled to Oakgrove and chatted to children about broccoli at lunchtime. The team at Oakgrove made broccoli stir fry & broccoli and potato croquettes with the children.

Shout out to Suraya & Jackie at Outwood (who provide the Oakgrove food) and Cheryl, Kit & Sarah at St Mary’s Moston. To Suzanne & Charlotte from Ladybrook and to Charlene, Mandy & Andrea from Bolshaw.
