Burglar caught in the act at Vernon Park museum
On Saturday 5 March 2016, Local Security firm, SK Solutions reacted to an alarm at Vernon Park Museum – a location where they manage security. On studying CCTV, the Solutions SK security team mobilised one of their Security Officers, as well as informing the police.
The burglar, who had broken in and smashed the alarm key pad off the wall, had damaged two windows and was seen on the CCTV going through cupboards.
The Solutions SK Security Officer arrived before the police and found the burglar on Turncroft Lane. Conscious that the burglar could get away, the Officer worked closely with the Police, following the offender and keeping under surveillance until the arrival of the Police a few minutes later.
Police have confirmed that the burglar has been wanted for unconnected matters since October 2015 and were pleased with this custody. The case has since gone to court.
Stephen Morris, Managing Director of Solutions SK, also comments,
I am delighted to see our Security Team actively protecting local businesses and working closely with the Police. Our 24 hour manned control room is an asset that could be widely used by Stockport businesses. Congratulations to all involved.
