History and Purpose

We’re proud of our heritage and reputation. We were established in 2007 and since then we’ve gone from strength to strength. We embrace our local origins, and provide quality, dependable and professional services across the northwest.

At the core of our business is our people. Most of our teams live in the local communities they work in, so when you work with us, we bring a true local partnership to your company.

Our vision is simple: To make your local life easier.

To keep us on track, we have three core values at the heart of everything we do:

  • Straightforward

We tell it how it is. We’re honest and open with the community and clients alike. We deliver on our promises with a sense of responsibility and integrity – if we make a mistake, we own up to it and we work hard to put it right straight away.

  • Together

We don’t want to be a commodity to your business, we want to be a partner. When you’re winning, we’re winning and vice versa – we want you to share the successes of the services we’re proud to provide. We listen to you, and we can offer advice along the way.

  • Accomplished

Nothing beats the feeling of a job well done. We’re proud of what we do and we never stop looking for ways to improve and learn. Our aim is to share these accomplishments with you, offering advice and help along the way, too. We strive for excellence in everything we do.

Environmental and Green Policy

We’re committed to doing our best for the environment. We never stop looking for ways we can not only limit the damage to but enrich the local ecosystem. Working with TLC is a positive step for your business towards being a greener, more sustainable company; we want to share our environmental successes with you.

We already have measures in place such as:

  • 100% of our motor oil waste is recycled.

  • Woodchip from our greenspace projects are used by CHP plants to produce green energy, contributing to powering over 52,000 local homes

  • Timber is repurposed by local businesses to produce things like community greenspace seating and flowerbeds.

  • We only use hypoallergenic, biodegradable cleaning products.

  • We use sustainable energy wherever we can, including the use of solar energy for our in-house fleet maintenance building.

  • Our catering services recycle oil into biofuels, contributing to the reduction of fossil fuel burning.

  • We’ve installed solar panels on six of our refuse trucks. Each truck will save significant fuel and carbon emissions annually.

What Our Clients Say…

“The food has been fantastic. So many parents are asking about the new school meals as their children are going home and asking to have a school dinner. It is wonderful to see that children entitled to Free School Meals now want to have their meal, instead of bringing a packed lunch.”

Alexandra Jamieson – Head teacher
Bridge Hall Primary

“I just wanted to extend a huge THANK YOU to Claire and Linda who have cleaned our Covid testing site and the rest of the ground floor in Fred Perry House. They have done an amazing job, they are always on hand to help, always smiling and the ground floor is spotless. They have kept us all safe and we really appreciate it. Thank you too for your excellent leadership.”

Hayley Taylor-Cox, Service Manager
Public Health Protection and Response Service – Response Arm Lead for Cancer and Long-Term Condition Prevention, SMBC

“They did a really thorough job and it’s nice to see our green spaces looking so lovely for the many people who rely on the park… it’s not looked this good or safe in years.”

Local Resident
Cheadle

“The difference between [TLC] s and my previous waste company is like night and day. Your guys have gone out of their way to help me more than once… Thank you.”

Greg Sykes
Lovely Floors, Reddish

“The signage looks really good and I am so pleased with it. Thank you both for your professionalism and great work.”

Mrs Maxey
Pendlebury Centre Headteacher

“Please will you pass on my thanks to all the people from TLC who supported the Stockport 5k and last weekend’s walk/ cycle events. I appreciate closing roads can be a difficult and unpopular task but everybody worked really hard to make the events a success.”

Sue Stevenson
Head of Highways and Transportation at SMBC

“I just wanted to extend a huge thank you to you and your teams who made our mobile Covid testing dreams a reality. Your support in setting up the initial big yellow bus, finding us a new unit, sorting the PPE van, driver assessments, the list goes on – has been invaluable. Thank you so much, you have been amazing!”

Hayley Taylor-Cox
