Bramhall High School Students Benefit from Totally Local Company’s Mock Interview Support – 9th October 2024
On 9th October, our Human Resources team had the privilege of supporting Year 11 students at Bramhall High School during their Mock Interview event.
Joanne McDuff, Senior HR Business Partner, and Sarah Woolley, Junior HR Advisor, represented Totally Local Company, offering guidance and expertise to help students prepare for their future career journeys.
In preparation for the event, students received interview questions to study and practice, allowing them to approach the day with confidence. Bramhall High School organised the event, with several local employers, including Totally Local Company, participating in the interviews throughout the day.
The day began with a presentation on interview skills, delivered by guest speakers from Stockport College, Cheadle & Marple College, and Rebecca Green from DJS Research. These sessions equipped the students with valuable insights into effective interview techniques.
The students were enthusiastic about the support they received and here is some of the positive feedback they shared:
- Deevan: “It was brilliant and really interactive. Well worth the time.”
- Emma: “I felt nervous at first and came out feeling confident.”
- Nathaniel: “I feel very prepared now.”

We have received amazing feedback from Bramhall High School’s event organiser Kay Thorpe, Teacher of Art, Textiles and Design Technology and Careers Lead. “Kay said, good morning, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for your time and efforts yesterday. The feedback has been amazing. You all made such a difference to our students. The buzz in the room was incredible. Seriously one of my most rewarding days of my career in teaching. Thanks so much.”
Headteacher Mr. P Williams said, “The parents and carers of our Year 11 students should be exceptionally proud of how they conducted themselves on Wednesday during their Mock Interview Day. The maturity that they displayed truly impressed all the external interviewers on the day and my thanks goes to Mrs Thorpe (Associate Assistant Headteacher) for organising the event and to everyone else involved for making the day so worthwhile for our students.”
Totally Local Company is delighted to have been part of this important initiative, helping to inspire and prepare the next generation for their future careers.
Well done and thank you to Joanne and Sarah for their participation in the events, making them a great success!
