Totally Local Company Inspires Future Talent at Hazel Grove High School – Tuesday, 8th October 2024

This week, TLC colleagues from our Human Resources team had the privilege of participating in a dynamic careers event at Hazel Grove High School in Stockport.

The event, attended by over 1,000 students, provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students about their career aspirations and interests.

At Totally Local Company (TLC) our services include Education Catering, Commercial Cleaning, and Grounds Maintenance for several schools and education providers across Stockport Borough. Many local High Schools are currently engaging with local businesses like TLC, and careers advisors during #Post16careersweek, to provide career advice and guidance to their students.

Alongside other local businesses and organisations, our HR Business Partners were able to support the students by fostering meaningful discussions about potential career paths, future ambitions, and personal hobbies. We were excited to share insights into the range of services Totally Local Company offers to local businesses, educational institutions, and the broader community throughout the Stockport Borough.

The students were eager to learn more about our company and expressed great interest in the career opportunities we offer. Many of them recognised our vibrant logo from our service vehicles seen around Stockport, which include Refuse and Recycling collection vehicles and Greenspace maintenance vehicles, and they enjoyed taking home some of our branded promotional goodies as a reminder of the day.

Engaging with the next generation of talent is an important part of our commitment to the local community, and we look forward to continuing our support for initiatives like these that help students envision a bright future.
