Commercial Waste – The Romiley Traders
Scope of works
We have been providing support to The Romiley Traders association since its inception in 2014. They hold a range of events throughout the year from Village Markets to food festivals and the big Christmas lights switch on!
Romiley Traders are a group of committed individuals and businesses who operate within the local area. These dedicated volunteers aim to provide the local community with some fantastic experiences and wonderful Food, drink and family entertainment.
We provide skips and large bins for food waste, mixed recycling and also general waste on a monthly basis as well as supporting any additional events that may be held.
Given that much like our own ethos, the heart of the community is at the forefront of everything the Traders do, the synergy in our partnership makes it easy to support.
Challenges
Being a community initiative, it has its challenges around logistics and safety. TLC have adopted an on hand solution based approach, affording flexibility around locations etc.
- Up to 20 stalls on site, from craft to perishables
- Food festivals, different street vendors with a variance in size up to 20
- Lots of footfall and traffic before and during events
On this contract we face the challenge of it being a community lead event, meaning we are actually working for a group of volunteers who arrange these events around every day life in the community. The committee all have full time jobs or run business so are not always on hand to liaise with prior to and during delivery.
Given this is a monthly arrangement, continuity in our workforce is imperative as is the need to understand the requirements.
Success
Our success is evidence by way of our long standing relationship with the traders, many of whom have also opted for WSSK to provide waste solutions for their own companies.
We have received positive feedback on a regular basis from the Traders and continue to work side by side on this project.
